Should you buy one?
Buy the Lava if balance or mobility makes a two-wheeler hard for you. It’s a three-wheel trike that stands on its own without a kickstand (6:36 to 6:53). It has a cushy seat with a backrest (4:02 to 4:16), and it carries a lot. There’s a front basket bag and a rear cargo area, plus a cover, net, mirrors, lock and tools in the box (1:20 to 1:45, 5:48 to 6:20).
Skip it if you want to ride fast or corner hard. You have to slow down in turns so it doesn’t tip (4:26 to 4:42), and Qronge caps it at 15 mph. Also skip it if you’ll climb loose gravel. The front-drive wheel slipped on me on a gravel incline (6:55 to 7:06).
The deciding factor: stability versus traction. It felt stable on flat gravel (4:52 to 5:16), but with the motor in the front wheel, the front tire can spin when you start or climb (3:17 to 3:34).
It wasn’t for me, but I’d point riders with mobility issues to it (6:36 to 6:53).

Source note: times in parentheses are from my review video. Everything marked (Qronge) is from the Lava product page on qronge.com, read Oct 23, 2026. Qronge’s own page lists the peak power as both 1,000W and 1,200W, so treat that number loosely. Qronge writes the load limit as “350+150 lbs” and doesn’t say how it splits; I’ve copied it as written.
What I didn’t test
I didn’t run a range test, a top-speed test, or a braking test, and I didn’t weigh it. The 75 mile range, 15 mph top speed, 108 lb weight and load limit are Qronge’s numbers. I didn’t load the rear cargo area to its limit. I did fold it and fit it in a large SUV (2:23 to 2:46).
Who it’s for
- Riders with balance or mobility issues (6:36 to 6:53).
- Riders who want a seat with a backrest (4:02 to 4:16).
- Errand riders who need a basket and cargo area (1:20 to 1:45, 5:48 to 6:20).
- Owners of a large SUV who want to take it along. It folds and the seat comes off (2:23 to 2:46).
Who should look elsewhere
- Riders who want speed. Turns need care (4:26 to 4:42).
- Riders on loose hills. The front wheel slipped (6:55 to 7:06).
- Anyone who needs hydraulic brakes. These aren’t (0:55 to 1:02), though stopping power was good (3:41 to 3:48).

The XP Trike2 costs $600 more but gets hydraulic brakes and weighs less. The Bunch is a front-box cargo trike for carrying kids, at a much higher price.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Stable, stands up on its own (4:52 to 5:16, 6:36 to 6:53)
- Cushy seat with a backrest (4:02 to 4:16)
- Lots of extras in the box (5:48 to 6:20)
- Folds to fit a large SUV (2:23 to 2:46)
- Good stopping power, plus a parking brake (1:52 to 1:59, 3:41 to 3:48)
- Fenders on all three wheels (3:00 to 3:05)
Cons
- Front wheel can slip on starts and loose climbs (3:17 to 3:34, 6:55 to 7:06)
- Must slow down for turns (4:26 to 4:42)
- Brakes aren’t hydraulic (0:55 to 1:02)
- Heavy, at 108 lb (Qronge)
- The key has to be on “run” before it starts (5:20 to 5:37)
FAQ
Is the Lava stable?
On flat gravel it felt stable (4:52 to 5:16). In turns you need to slow down so it doesn’t tip (4:26 to 4:42).
Does it fold?
Yes. With the seat off, it fit in a large SUV (2:23 to 2:46).
How fast does it go?
Qronge lists up to 15 mph. I didn’t measure top speed.
Is the discount code still good?
Code AEQR50 for $50 off is from my video; may have expired. I haven’t checked whether it stacks with Qronge’s current sale.

It was about $1,000 when I made the video (7:09 to 7:12). As of Oct 23, 2026, qronge.com lists it at $899.99 in red or grey and $999.99 in light green, against a $1,999.99 regular price.
