Our take

The Packer 1 is a longtail-style cargo bike for parents and errand runners who want a front suspension fork, which many cargo bikes skip. Its smaller 20 in rear wheel keeps the load low, and the 440 lb total limit is generous. The trade-offs are a cadence-type sensor rather than a torque sensor and a 691 Wh battery that is mid-sized for a 75 lb cargo bike. Both colors were unavailable when we checked.

What owners say

Velotric's store shows a 4.8 out of 5 average from 126 reviews. Owners mention carrying toddlers with the passenger handrail and the smooth ride. One owner who hauls chainsaws on forest trails praised it but said the step-through frame flexes under a heavy load on rough ground.

Caveat: These reviews sit on the maker's own store, which may filter them. They aren't independent.
