Should you buy one?
Buy the REVR CM7 if your commute mixes pavement with dirt or gravel and you want a soft ride. It has a front fork and a rear shock (2:18 to 2:47), Zoom hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels (0:56 to 1:10, 2:08 to 2:12), and knobby fat tires that held traction on dirt slopes in my testing (3:50 to 4:09). I said it suits a medium to long commute with some gravel on the way (4:47 to 5:03).
Skip it if you want a light bike or a torque sensor. It’s a heavier e-bike because of the fat tires and rims (4:28 to 4:37), and it uses a cadence sensor with a crankset that didn’t feel as smooth as some others (2:55 to 3:07). REVR lists 70.84 lb.
The deciding factor: comfort and brakes versus weight. If you carry it up stairs, look elsewhere.

What I didn’t test
I didn’t run a range test, a top-speed test, or a braking test, and I didn’t weigh the bike. The 80 mile range, 70.84 lb weight and 450 lb load are REVR’s numbers. I didn’t try the optional second battery (3:28 to 3:32).
Who it’s for
- Commuters with a medium to long ride and some gravel along the way (4:47 to 5:03).
- Couples or families sharing one bike, thanks to the step-through frame (4:11 to 4:24).
- Riders on dirt and gravel who want a cushioned ride (2:37 to 2:47).
- Anyone who wants to strap a bag to a strong rear rack (3:16 to 3:23, 4:42 to 4:47).
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who has to lift or carry the bike (4:28 to 4:37).
- Riders who want a torque sensor (3:00 to 3:07).
- Riders who care about a smooth crankset (2:55 to 3:00).

FAQ
Does it have full suspension?
Yes. There’s a front fork and a rear shock (2:18 to 2:39). On dirt and gravel it felt like floating (2:39 to 2:47).
Can I add a second battery?
REVR offered one that slides into the rear rack. My demo bike didn’t have it (3:21 to 3:32).
Is the CM7 the same as the CM7s?
REVR now sells the CM7s. Its listing matches what I saw on my bike: 500W, Zoom hydraulic brakes, fork and rear suspension, and 20 x 4 Kenda tires. Check the listing for any changes.
How far does it go?
REVR rates the 864Wh battery at up to 80 miles. I didn’t measure range.
