Is there a federal e-bike tax credit?
No. The E-BIKE Act, which would have created one, was introduced in the 118th Congress but never became law. Source: Congress.gov: S.881, E-BIKE Act, checked October 29, 2026.
$225 off at the register in 2026 (it was $450 in 2024 and 2025)
How it works
Ask a participating shop for the discount when you buy. One per person per calendar year. The shop claims a $250 state tax credit and can keep a $25 fee, which is why you see $225 off. The credit runs through tax years before 2033.

We only list a program after reading it on the government agency's or utility's own website. Dealer blogs and rebate roundups aren't used as sources. If a page doesn't say something, we don't either.
Most programs pay at the register through a participating local shop, so a bike bought online usually won't qualify. Many also require a UL 2849 or EN 15194 certified e-bike and cap the price. Read the rules before you buy.
